You'll get invited to our Meetups as soon as they're scheduled!
TheRelay is my favorite run. Named "California's Longest Party" - running 200 miles from Calistoga to Daveport, over the Golden Gate Bridge under full moon. Teams of 12 runners. A lot of fun. www.therelay.com. Contact me with any question.
See www.portolavalley.net for town trail map.
1. Park Windy Hill car park on Portola Road. Beginner Run - up Willowbrook - easy grade warm up, go up Toyon and round via Water Tower (either way) run back behind Sequoias - guess about 3-4 miles.
2. Windy Hill Car Park. Run along trails to Hamms Gulch - either up Hamms Gulch - zigzags, down Razor Back and along Eagle Trail to bottom of Hamms Gulch - back on trails
3. Run up main Windy Hill trail - steep runs - have to be good to run it - and along Lost Trail to Hamms Gulch and back.
4. Wunderlich - has car park and several trails
5. Huddart - can go warm up along trails to Phleger Reserve then up Phleger and back.
6. There's always the Stanford dish - but the surface is paved. Parking maybe easier on Alpine Road.

TheRelay...California's Longest Party. I know Dane has a team organized as well. My team, Yo...TAXI has run the event for 5 years in a row now. I'm looking for 1 more runner to join my team, so if you are interested in finding out how much fun this event is and a low stress participation as all the logistics have been worked out, please contact me and I can fill you in all the details!

Veteran team in The Relay (200 mile, 12 person relay from Calistoga to Davenport, May 1 & 2) looking for 2 to 3 runners to fill out team. We were one of the original 9 teams that competed in the inaugural Calistoga to Santa Cruz Relay in 1995 and have run it each year since. We keep coming back to this crazy event each year because the experience is so rewarding. And we don't take ourselves too seriously, as is evidenced by our team name: "Just Watering Your Flowers, Ma'am." In fact, some team members have described our journey as a weekend party, with some running thrown in. If you are interested in joining us, contact me at gillmouth@yahoo.com.
Run the 5K or 1 mile lap, get a free t-shirt, finishers medal and a free pass to California's Great America. Its cheaper than buying day passes to Great America!!
