  •  I was hoping to glean some useful info for you on home remedies for foot soreness/stress fracture, but all it says is: limit weight bearing, stick to low impact exercise. An orthotic device may be necessary to reduce pressure at the fracture site. How are you managing? Have you been swimming instead? I'm going to try the vinegar wraps and the rosemary wraps for my sore muscles.

  •  Hope your foot feels better, what do you think did you in?

    Tina Le (Aug 04, 2010 12:21 AM)
  •  the tues. before wharf to wharf/sfm wknd I guess I did injure my calves because I had to lay off for 9 days. I dove into barefoot training in my fivefingers by running a 5k race pace in them for a mile around a track. Finally, this morning I went to Rancho just to do an easy 3.5 miles to feel them out, and I think I'm back, I even finished with a sprint!

  •  OK Speedy, as an exception you can join my all girls team. However you must to adhere to the uniform requirements...

  •  Unf. no, had to sell my bib last minute as my calves are still in no shape to run, a little frustrating to say the least!

  •  Yopu Didn't run SFM? You should have run it, that's the best! SFM is the only race running on the road of the Golden Gate Bridge. Pacing is different than running: when I'm running a long-distance run, I'm always trying to set a new PR, or at least - a new best time for that run. When pacing - goal is to run constant effort, help runners that are trying to make the goal time, and finish on time - not more than 2 minutes faster. My pacing time was 5:30, and (as expected) I finished in 5:29:54...

  •  hmm, no one's come out with a high heeled running shoe yet - natural, killer calves, forget about calf implants - I bet there's money in that market! : o

    Tina Le (Jul 21, 2010 8:52 PM)
  •  Casey, the run was awesome! Going downhill was much more challenging than I expected... my knees are screaming bloody murder... but I expect to be back next Monday.

    Hien (Jul 20, 2010 2:27 AM)
  •  I think the campbell run helped with my pacing. I ran a 7:18 pace, a PR for me at 45:20 (2nd female, 1st division). I can see why you're fast on flats, because you have no problem with hills : )
